Career

Johnson played in the youth tournament Gothia Cup in 1998 and was spotted by local Swedish club Floda BoIF. In 2001 he switched to the Gothia Cup organizing club, BK Häcken which at that time played in the first division. Häcken were relegated after the 2001 season, but Johnson remained. In 2004 he was part of the squad that returned to the Allsvenskan.

He is the son of former Liberian player and manager Josiah Johnson[1]

In July 2008, Johnson signed a 3-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv for 300,000 per season, including a €200,000 signing bonus.[2] However, he spent just a season with the Israeli side with only a single goal and two assists and helped them win the League Cup also known as the Toto Cup. He left the club in June 2009 and signed a new deal with his previous club AIK.

In March 2010 he was granted Swedish citizenship and is now regarded as an EU player.[3]

On 21 January 2011, it was announced that Dulee Johnson had signed a 18-month contract with Greek club Panetolikos. However, on April 21, 2011, Panetolikos announced that there was an agreement to terminate his contract [4]

In May 2011, Johnson was on trial with Dutch club De Graafschap and is courted in Europe as well as receiving lucrative Asia offers. He signed a one year contract with De Graafschap but was fired on October 3 after causing a caraccident under influence and multiple disciplinary incidents. He played three Eredivisie matches and one KNVB Cup match in which he scored his only goal for De Graafschap.[5]
